Here is exactly how a game plays out, start to finish.
Step 1: Club Setup
Give your club a name and pick a difficulty. Normal shows every player's OVR rating during the draft. Legend hides all ratings — you draft on real football knowledge alone, with a single reroll as your only safety net. There is also a Daily Challenge: the same draft seed for every player in the world that day, always on Legend difficulty.
Step 2: The Draft
A slot machine spins through the 44 historic squads in the pool — from the Arsenal Invincibles and Manchester United's Treble winners to Leicester's miracle and the modern Manchester City dynasty. Wherever it lands, you pick exactly one player from that squad's 18-man roster. Eleven spins later, your all-time XI is complete. Step 3: Pick Your Formation
You choose one of six formations: 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1, 3-5-2, 4-4-2 Diamond and 3-4-3. Your drafted players slot into the shape you pick, and players with alternative positions give you extra flexibility. The full breakdown of what each tactic needs is in the formations guide.
Step 4: Choose a Manager
Twelve legendary managers are available — from Sir Alex Ferguson and Pep Guardiola (both +12 team bonus) through Wenger, Klopp and Mourinho down to value picks like Kevin Keegan and Rafa Benítez (+8). The bonus applies to your whole team across the season, so this choice matters more than it looks.
Step 5: The 38-Round Season
Your XI takes on a 20-team league of historic Premier League sides across 38 rounds. Every match comes with a live scoreboard, possession, shots, xG and momentum stats, minute-by-minute commentary, a real league table and a top scorers chart. Drop points and the perfect season is gone — but the title, top four and your final record are always still alive.
Step 6: Results, Records & the Hall of Fame
When the season ends you get a shareable record card — Champions, top four, or worse. Completed seasons are stored in your local Hall of Fame, and milestones along the way unlock achievements, up to the ultimate prize: The Impossible, a perfect 38-0-0 campaign.
